You must read these instructions carefully before attempting this assignment. All of the instructions below
are reflected in the marking criteria. Your assignment should contain SIX parts:
I. Introduction (80-100 words)
Define the term Reflective Writing (provide citation) and discuss importance / significance of
reflective writing in general.
II. Discussion & Reflection (350-400 words)
Your discussion should focus on the following important points:
a. Explain Kolbs Learning Cycle. Discuss the four stages of Kolbs learning cycle (provide citation).
b. Discuss three career related skills that you developed being in HE (Higher Education). Reflect on
your learning experience and use Kolbs model of reflection. Your reflection should include
evidence from other sources.
III. Development Plan (150-200 words)
This part should include a plan about improving your skills. It should include a course of action and a
timeline. Focus on the following points:
a. Describe your future chosen career. Identify three career related skills that you need to develop
for the future. Produce a plan for the skills which need to be developed further. Your plan should
include a timeline and how you will address these development needs.
IV. Role of Reflection in Academic and Professional Life (150-200 words)
In this section, discuss the role of skills in your academic and professional life. Following points should
be part of your discussion:
a. Discuss importance of reflection in general (provide evidence of research / citation).
b. The role of reflection in your academic life and professional life.
V. Conclusion (80-100 words)
Summarise the above discussion and provide a conclusion.
VI. References
You must use at least FIVE Latest (Published after 2010) academic sources. Include proper in-text
citation and a reference list at the end of your assignment. You have to follow the Harvard
referencing style.
