You will have two questions to choose from: select one and write a standard essay consisting of an introduction, 2 – 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Remember to use the analytical paragraph structure for the body paragraphs.
The questions will ask you to write about the changes Cesaire makes in his play A Tempest to Shakespeare’s The Tempest, and their significance (what meaning do they convey). The questions will specify the topic or aspect of the play you are to examine: in other words, you will not be able to choose whatever changes you wish, but to address those specified in the question. While you will be focussing more on Cesaire’s play, you will also need to be familiar with The Tempest in order to examine the significance of the changes in the former one.
